Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF never leaves your device. It is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript - no file is uploaded, no account is required, and nothing is stored.

Why might my converted document lose some formatting?

PDF is a presentation format that does not always preserve document structure. Text-heavy PDFs convert well, but complex layouts with columns, tables, or images may lose some formatting during extraction.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

Scanned PDFs contain images rather than selectable text, so standard text extraction will produce empty or very limited output. For scanned documents, OCR (optical character recognition) software is needed - this tool does not include OCR.
